About the Founder

D.Scott Schwartz, M.Ed.

K12 and 21st Century Skills Expert

Schwartz has been working, studying and researching the K12 system and 21st century skills for the last 22 years. The NJ Legislature and worldwide experts in education consider him to be a true expert in the field of education.

He is the founder of Leaf Academy, as well as an education think tank that researches best practices for teachers and school leaders.

He is also the developer and creator of the most innovative and effective Teacher Development program in the country, which helps teachers become expert-level instructors within 2 full school years.

His unique approach to solving problems in the K12 system is one of the reasons he was asked to give expert testimony before the NJ Joint Legislative Committee on the public schools and was recommended to be a part of the NJ Governor's Education Task Force.

Schwartz has a Bachelor's Degree from Brandeis University in American Studies, as well as a Master's in Educational Leadership. He is also a certified principal, superintendent and school business administrator.
