The Leaf Academy created a Teacher Self-Care Packet, which we want to thank the Social Workers at Understood.org for their help and research. The 5 Self-Care Tips were written by Social Worker Brittney Newcomer's, (M.S., LSSP.) from understood.org.
 
The Reasoning Behind The Self-Care Packet:
For the first 4 days of this program, you have done the heavy lifting. You have created a weekly schedule, you have analyzed your workload, and you have done work in bulk. That means on Day 5 - Is All About Taking Care of Yourself.

If your brain, and your psyche are not at its BEST - then you cannot achieve your best. If you don't feel relaxed and confident that "you got this!!" then you won't be there 100% for your students. You need to take care of you, in order to take care of your students.  We hope that on Day 5, you have lowered 50% of your anxiety and stress that you were feeling five days ago. Hopefully after today, you will have reduced another 25% of your stress levels. 

Choose 1 of the 5 Self-Care Tips. Yes, just choose 1. And then implement it today!! Your assignment is to put 1 Self-Care tip into ACTION TODAY!!
