Do people who receive a college degree earn more money than people who don't?
For the last 100 years, the answer to this question was YES. In fact, it was so lopsided in favor of getting a college degree, that families would sacrifice everything just to send their kids to college.
But times have changed.
In fact, some of the richest people in the world do not have a college degree. That might surprise you, since that's not the narrative your teachers or the news media want you to hear. But it's factually true.
Mark Zuckerberg did not earn a college degree. Tyler Perry did not earn a college degree. And that's just two examples of some of the most wealthiest people in the country. So what changed? Why is college no longer necessary for success in the 21st century?
College Doesn't Teach You the Rules
One of the main reasons college is no longer the path to success is simply because college doesn't teach you the rules of the 21st century. It should go without saying, if you don't know the rules of the game, how are you supposed to play?
Not only that, but when other people know the rules and you don't - the game seems rigged or unfair. The problem is the game isn't rigged - the problem is you never read the rule book.
What's the Solution to the Problem?
Now that you know what's happening, you can take the right steps and action to fix the problem. If you don't know the rules, then the next step is to go and learn the rules. If you don't know how to play the game - then the next step is to learn how to play the game.
It's really that simple. And here's the best part -- you can do it!!
